Fixed! Family! Zip! BBQ Poker! McCafe! and More! Yay-Yaaaaay!
Posted under Le BlogHere I am!
So my blog broke a while ago, but me fixed it!
I’ll see if I can start from scratch again. As you can see, I’m trying out a new style for my blog. I figured since my blog and my life kinda hit the reset button around the same time, I should start over with this thing too.
So much to share since I last was able to post, but like I promised the last time, I’ll just pretend all was normal and try to write as if not much time passed.

I got to see my family on Momma’s day which included my niece and her beautiful baby, Natalie. That was very fun. The visit itself was a bit humbling, but enjoyable nevertheless.
It was humble in the sense that this was the first time I was able to visit my family without the benefit of having my own means to get there.
As with a lot of people, last year was rough, so I had to make some changes to my lifestyle.
So I had to take public transportation to my Mom’s house, and then my nephew –my nephew!- had to drive me back to the train station.
My family always knew I was doing ok financially and of course now knows about the financial changes I had to go through, but it still stung a little to have it displayed that way.
That was the start of a rough couple of weeks, but in the end I came out Ok and I’m proud to say I’m doing Ok with things and having fun looking at the positives. But I did have a little help.
It was last week sometime. I was on the bus coming back from work and listening to my tunes. Then “Little Wonders” came on. After the song I actually began to feel some weight being lifted. It felt good to know I had reached the point where I was Ok and that it felt even better realizing how I got to that point.
So thanks, Pops!
Those of you that have actually read my past psotings will know what I’m talking about. But the rest of you can suck it. Bam.
So yeah, after that I was able to feel a LOT better as the days went by and was pleasantly reminded of the overall outcome of all the crap I’ve been through the past 8 or 9 months thru a conversation with friend John Langen after a show this past week.
I’ve mentioned it before, but yeah, the financial change after leaving my full time job has been a big factor in all the mess, but in the end, I’m Happy doing what I love doing. So shout out to Langen for helping me remind myself of that. Yay-Yaaaaay!

I got a zipcar! Well, not an actual car….you know what I mean. So yeah, I’m pretty excited to start using it. Shout out to Niki on that one. Yay-Yaaaaay!

Jason Chin hosted a bbq/poker for Memorial Day. Except for losing money, it was a fun day followed by a fun show that same night. So shout out to Chin for hosting. Yay-Yaaaaay!

I did some webisodes for McDonalds new McCafe product last month and they have them on their front page! ( http://www.mcdonalds.com/ )
That was pretty cool. It was a fun shoot with fun people. Silly, but fun.
I wanted to try out the coffee so I went to McD’s.
At McD’s
Her: Can I help you?
Me: Yes, I’d like a small iced coffee, please.
Her: We don’t have ‘small’. We have ‘medium’ and ‘large’.
Me: So…that means the ‘medium’ is basically a ‘small’.
Her: No. We don’t have ‘small’, we only have ‘medium’ or ‘large’.
Me: Yeah, but if you don’t have ‘small’, but have the other two, then one has to be a small, right?
Her: No.
Me: Really?
Her: Can I HELP you..?
Manager walks by and asks if everything is Ok.
Me: Yeah, I’m just trying to order a ‘medium’ iced coffee.
Double-take from Her.
Manager: (annoyed and pressing buttons) it’s right there! Sorry, sir.
Me: No worries.
Manager walks away to get my coffee and Her whispers ‘jerk’ and walks away.
That was fun. And you know what? I enjoyed the iced coffee! Hey McD’s: Yay-Yaaaaay!

The past two weeks I’ve gone to the movies by myself twice. I only did it once when Spiderman 3 came out and I got to see it in a theater all by myself. Fun.
I always felt weird about going to the movies by myself. I guess I was embarrassed about what other people would say about a lone dude seeing a movie. But I guess a lot of people do it and since I really wanted to see these flicks, I decided to do it solo. And get this; I got to see Star Trek in a movie theater by myself again! That was fun. I saw Terminator yesterday and although there were some people there, I still enjoyed myself and enjoyed the movie too.
I heard about some weird reviews about Terminator but I really dug it. I like eye-candy and a nice action flick, so I’ll see this and stuff like Transformers with joy.
I mentioned this before, but what happened to enjoying a flick just to enjoy it? Too many people do the ‘ol: “Well, here’s why I didn’t like it: How am I supposed to believe that so-and-so does the thing where he realizes this thing but doesn’t get that he did it when he wasn’t supposed to when all along all he had to do was give in to this and not that and then we wouldn’t have to see the thing where he says that phrase that supposedly already happened? I mean, Really???”
So yeah, unless you were some annoying brainy-ass child, you enjoyed seeing cartoons like Bugs Bunny, Popeye, Scooby Do, etc., because you completely gave in to being a child and having fun watching something that was made for your viewing pleasure
So leave your brain in the car and go have fun at the movies.

Oh, I gotta give a shout out to Molly Hall, Emily Radke, Timmy Mayse, and Tierza Spszidspdifsdpfsdaf (Don’t know how to spell her last name). I love my friends. Yay-Yaaaaay!

I lost most of the postings on the Douche-Bag club, but there’s plenty of potential members out there so I’m sure I’ll have no problem filling that club again. As a matter of fact, here’s a whole mess of new members: The Cubs.
You lost 8 in a row then won two against the Pirates. In my eyes you’re still in a losing streak.
I love you guys, but you’re killing me!
So cubbies, welcome to the douche-bag club. Hey Zambrano, you get the big chair.

So there’s a condensed version on what’s been happening over here.
Life is getting back to normal and I’m looking forward to enjoying what I like doing a whole lot more.
Not that anyone cares, but I’ll see if I can find some older posts and place them in an archive here. Or not.
Party time. Kssssh! Yay-Yaaaaay!
