Who is Cesar….and why does he keep using the moniker “Cesua”?
Cesar Jaime is a Chicago-based actor with a strong focus and dedication to the art of Improvisation and improvisational theater.
Like many people who embark on this journey, Cesar first got the “acting bug” in high school thanks to the kind and wonderful inspiration of his drama and English teacher, Marsha Brody. (Yeah, yeah, yeah, -it sounds like a lot like Marsha Brady, I know.)
From there he pursued his career at Chicago’s Columbia college. He took a class with the late Martin DeMaat –a wonderful and kind person- that would eventually change his life.
Marty introduced Cesar o the Second City Theater and encouraged him to take classes there. Cesar followed his teacher’s advice and has been on a wonderful journey ever since.
Since roughly 1994, Cesar has had the chance –and pleasure- to study, meet and perform with many talented people that are great staples in the improv community in Chicago and around the world.
Cesar currently performs weekly improvisational shows at Chicago’s iO Theater (formerly the ‘ImprovOlympic’) with the teams “The Diplomat Motel”, “Felt”, and “The Armando Diaz Experience”.
Oh, yeah, and I also have two small white dogs.
Don’t you dare judge me.

“Cesua”
A long time ago, I used to have long hair. One day while out at a bar someplace, my good friend and crazy mentor, Steve, thought it would be a good idea to have me approach a girl, fling my hair and say:
“I am Cesua, you will love me”.
Booze makes you say ‘Yes’ a lot, so I did just that.
This, of course, didn’t create the result I or Steve were hoping for, but it made us giggle a lot.
Since that day, Steve would occasionally ask drunk-Cesar to try his new “approach” just to get a kick out of watching girls look at me like I was crazy.
I no longer have long hair or try using that dumb line, but the nickname stuck, mainly around all the wonderful people I met because of Steve and his super cool wife, Rox. (short for Roxanne)
So I continue to use it for email addresses and stuff like this.
Oh, and a while back I founded the douche-bag club when I got ‘Cesua’ vanity plates.

I am now part of this blog madness.
Now, as the late great Del Close used to say, “Let’s see how much trouble we can get ourselves into…”
